A good day. A productive day. (Bracketed by two rather miserable nights, but I won't go into that; it doesn't matter much.)

In the morning, I did backups (a regular chore, and of course not very difficult) and called Southwest to try to find out why their website wouldn't take my credit card (their credit card) to book a flight. After getting bounced around between Southwest, Chase, and back to a different part of Southwest, I finally took a careful look at the card info and discovered that the +4 field on the zipcode was a hyphen followed by three digits. Oops. But that's something their software damned-well ought to be able to catch.

Then I took the YD to her photo shoot, a follow-up because there were a couple of problems with her wardrobe selections for the first one. She was spectacular as usual.

While this was going on, the Wolfling was being taken out to brunch while her husband was being picked up at the airport. All Chaos knew was that he was sending her a package; when she got home he was sitting next to the tree with a large bow in his lap. She failed to notice him not once but two or three times. Wish I'd been there.

In the evening, while Selkit was making dinner, I paid some bills and then started upgrading (file server) Nova to Lenny, and finished around 9:30. This is one that's been mouldering in the queue since Lenny came out last Valentine's Day. There are still a few minor bits of configuration left, of course, but it's basically done. The only mishap was nearly dropping the old hard drive; I caught it, but may have damaged it anyway. Grump. I'd wanted to archive the old root partition, then give the drive to Chaos.

But it was, as I said, a good day.

A couple of links up there in the notes.
