Mixed day: started good, and even pretty productive, but ended with an evening mostly spent trying desperately to get my network gateway back up when what I needed was a good conversation. Can't win 'em all, I guess.

[livejournal.com profile] selkit's talk/demo at work went well, though the audience was certainly a lot smaller than it would have been any other week. And [livejournal.com profile] pocketnaomi is now using the chamois icon I made for her as her default. *preens modestly*

Insurance may pay for your wheelchair, unless you need it to go someplace (from this post) is simply infuriating. And yes, Colleen and I had to buy our own scooter, too. The rules about at-home health care are equally infuriating -- if you can sit on your front porch to greet the visiting nurse, they dump you. Welcome to the American health doesn't-care-at-all system.

It took me longer than it should have to cobble together a fix when Something Bad happened to my gateway machine. But the temporary gw is fanless, and I'm enjoying the near-silence in the office. I will not be basing the new gateway on anything with a fan in it.
