Done yesterday (20100327 Sa)
2010-03-28 10:27 am0327 Sa * up 8am; W=199.6; drugs, nose * tracked down sitar pick for Norwescon (in case nail repairs don't hold) * puttering: sort 2010 receipt pile into folders * take YD to JDR @ The Misinformed Tea Party Movement - Forbes.com (from admnaismith) * installed pallet/ramp in back bathroom. Needed some trimming, done rather sloppily with a pull-saw 'cause damned if I'll use a circular saw freehand. * walk: 2x around Rose Garden * good advice on stress + time management from $friend via IM * 2:40 leave to pick up YD @ JDR * Penzey's run -- also Draeger's and TJ ! Very stressy, frazzled. A little resentful. * 6:30 Music stand: Stoph and Margaret: Could you meet us at outside the Elizabeth Gamble Garden in Palo Alto, 1431 Waverley Street? That's pretty near where we will be playing. ! the garden was lovely -- very soothing. I spent ~20min wandering around % ... which works out to 3 hours of driving so far: two round trips to JDR (1/2 hr each) and two to Palo Alto (1 hr each). Then dinner... * Dinner at Kobe & re-verify Colleen's email at live365. She didn't remember that she had a configured email client. It didn't help that sound was broken until I rebooted. It didn't help that I'm close to the edge. * git init-db in steve.savitzky.net; nothing checked in yet * bed ~11:30
A very stressful day, despite a good walk in the early afternoon. The Penzey's run, to Menlo Park, was OK but it's not really my thing. Then a run to Palo Alto to rendezvous with Callie's music stand -- more relaxed, and the public garden we met outside of was lovely and soothing. But still, a total of maybe 3 1/2 hours of driving.
A friend suggested on IM that I schedule my time more tightly, and plan on no more than three "big things" (on the order of making dinner, going out on a date, a rehearsal, or work) in a day. So let's see... two loads of laundry, breakfast and lunch for me and Colleen, dishes, a walk, outing in Menlo Park, rendezvous in Palo Alto (and because of limitations imposed by store-closing time, the YD's schedule, and the size of Colleen's bladder, those trips couldn't be easily combined or separated farther), dinner out, and some system administration and debugging on Colleen's netbook.
Oh.
