A good day. The morning was bright and sunny, and I took a half-hour walk. So it's almost certain that light levels have a lot to do with my mood; I'm going to look into full-spectrum lighting over the weekend. Hopefully I can find standard-base CFLs without having to shell out extra for fixtures. It does shed a different light on "mood lighting", though.

Colleen and I were both unusually cheerful as we went out for our weekly date night. We went to Sneha, which has a very full Indian buffet for dinner as well as lunch. The name is Hindi for "love", BTW.

The tension seems to have decreased over the course of the day, also. Still have no good idea what that was about. Or is; there's still some there. Work?

Another form of "social steganography" is what's now called "dog-whistle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog-whistle_politics)" words/phrases - things that sound more or less innocuous to "liberals", but are understood by the right-wing audience as having a racist (or otherwise politically unpalatable) meaning.

I followed your link on social steganography and realized I've been using it as a survival technique since I was a kid, and I suspect the same is true for many other folks.

If you have a Big Lots! near you, I got some very inexpensively priced full spectrum lamps there that I've been using for almost two years. They seem to make my moods better overall.

BTW..in my store they are in the "lamps" section, not in with light bulbs or electronics.

Thanks! The floor lamp looks exactly like the two I just got at CVS for the same price; I may go looking for the desk lamps.

The BigLots I went to didn't seem to _have_ a lamps section, nor did the first CVS I went to. So it seems to be a store-by-store thing on both sides.
