% interesting data point -- the wedding seemed to drain more energy than a

A pretty good day, though rather tiring. Work was a series of adventures in merging, using subversion, git, and git-svn. There will be more to do today. Interesting, some new stuff to learn, but rather tiring.

I spent my lunch hour tracking down a bus pass for the YD -- it turns out that not every CVS carries them, which is weird.

Officiating a wedding in our living room was lots of fun, but unexpectedly draining. Interesting data point.

Quite a few links today, under the cut as usual.

I'd guess that the reason officiating a wedding was draining for you is because you're not in the habit of manipulating energy through ritual. Basically, you were putting energy into the ritual, which is exactly right, but not absorbing any energy out of the ritual, which is a very quick way to drain yourself. As my former High Priestess always used to have to tell me, "Be a faucet, not a pitcher!" - when you act as a "faucet" for energy coming from the Universe (instead of "pouring out" your own personal energy), it's almost impossible not to skim a little off for yourself. And it's an incredible high ;-D

I'm afraid this is something that's effectively impossible to teach via text alone. You'll have to participate in a few rituals with people in your area, specifically asking them to help you understand energy work. (If my headblind, militantly agnostic husband can learn to feel the energy, you can, too!)
