A very productive day, at least at home: I got the counter to the left of my monitor cleared off, and set up the laptop stand. That's pretty huge; the laptop stand is something I've had on the to.do list for over a year. I feel very pleased with myself.

Of course, I now have three boxes worth of clutter to sort through...

Things at work aren't making anywhere near as good progress, but since the hang-up is over at the opposite end of the code from where I'm working, I'm not going to worry about it too much.

I got a good walk in - 3 miles. Go me!

Some good links under the cut. I've read through most of flylady.com, which has a lot of good 15min-related info and tips (though it's aimed specifically at stay-at-home housewives and is too structured for my taste).

I belonged to Flylady for a while, adapted her ideas to my own. If I have stuff I really want to avoid I find a good netflix tv episode or movie and do 10 minutes watching it, 10 minutes the nasty task. It really makes the work fly by!

For housecleany stuff I broke my place up into areas, like zones but not exactly the same. Monday is Living room, Tuesday is Kitchen, Wednesday is bathroom, Thursday is bedroom, Friday is whatever else that needs it urgently. Usually works pretty good that way. I have a whiteboard list in the hallway - Today, this week (or by x date), as soon as convenient are the headings. I don't need a set day for 'the shopping' or 'the errands' or 'the laundry', I just fit it in around other things in my life.

Your postings about manageable tasks and such have re-inspired me!

Flylady is my online "nagging" service. Often, I am not motivated enough to do my own fifteen minutes without going on one of their missions.

I find the general advice to be pretty good, and the cheerleading neat, although I have to give myself permission not to read it all if I get behind!
