Tip for finger-picking filkers

Superglue is particularly handy for fixing broken fingernails. As long as it's just a crack and a piece hasn't broken off completely, you can just apply superglue to the crack, plus a thin layer over the surface to hold things together. Avoid picking your nose for the five minutes or so that it takes to dry. Had to do it twice this weekend, on two different nails. One happened the day before my concert -- that makes the second concert this year I've done with bionic nails.
I found a particularly useful item in Walgreens: a package of 8 tubes of superglue for $3.99. Having multiple tubes is particularly important because they tend to leak, glue themselves shut, and become useless. Once upon a time there used to be fingernail-repair kits that included not only superglue but little silk reinforcement patches. Couldn't find one the last time I looked. Buy your glue in the school-supplies section: it's cheaper.
