Hmm. Not much seems to have happened yesterday. Or rather, I didn't do much. I did get [livejournal.com profile] chaoswolf's birthday package mailed (a week late). And some coding at work. Whee!

Still working on learning "When I Go".

Some links. I think the most mind-boggling one this time is Half of US social program recipients believe they "have not used a government social program". This may explain a few things about the current political scene. Y'know, shutting down the government for a month might not be such a bad idea.

Yes, it's why people keep being surprised when their services get cut.

The last time this happen. People were placed on furlough. Some had families with small kids. In California, it takes up to 60 days to get food stamps and other assistance so in order to pay the bills and buy food, the credit card debt is overloaded. Oh, if government is shut down, Congress and the military still gets paid; but not the employees. In some parts of the US, Federal employees support the economy of small hamlets and towns. For example, Brunswick, GA.. the only thing keeping the economy of Brunswick alive is the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and tourists...
