Hmm. Not much seems to have happened yesterday. Or rather, I didn't do much. I did get chaoswolf's birthday package mailed (a week late). And some coding at work. Whee!

The last time this happen. People were placed on furlough. Some had families with small kids. In California, it takes up to 60 days to get food stamps and other assistance so in order to pay the bills and buy food, the credit card debt is overloaded. Oh, if government is shut down, Congress and the military still gets paid; but not the employees. In some parts of the US, Federal employees support the economy of small hamlets and towns. For example, Brunswick, GA.. the only thing keeping the economy of Brunswick alive is the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and tourists...

You're right, it would be terrible. But it would be exactly what these clueless people voted for when they put Republicans back in control of the House.
