Can anyone out there recommend a good video editor for Linux? I have some .mov files of concerts that I want to split up and transcode so that I can upload individual songs to YouTube.

Have to admit being totally satisfied with the avidemux - apt-get install avidemux.

John says you only need a simple video editor such as avidemux (previously recommended) or Open Movie Editor (www.openmovieeditor.org). If you want something with more oomph, try Kino; lots of power & functionality but downside is that it converts all formats to .dv and the temp files are HUGE. It's probably more than you need. You can try Kden Live (www.kdenlive.org), similar to Open Movie Editor but he has never used it, or LiVES (lives.sourceforge.net), ditto.
