  * up 7:50; W=197.4; drugs, nose, teeth, laundry
  * upgrade stargate to squeeze on 2.5" drive
    @ Issues when Upgrading to Shorewall 4.4 (Lenny to Squeeze)
    Would be useful to have an HD power connector Y cable -- don't know what's
    become of my stash.  Will make it difficult to fall back.  Also, don't
    have the right screws for the 3.5" drive.
    Putting a monitor and keyboard on a tray table works well, though.  I'd be
    tempted to leave 'em except they block the file cabinet.
    * Debian 6.0 installed.  emacs, shorewall, apcupsd
    * /etc/fstab set up with /home and /srv (note:  need to be LABEL=...) 
    * /etc/network/interfaces set up
      -> note: both interfaces have to be auto, not allow-hotplug
    * ssh_keys and authorized key file restored
    * apcupsd configured
  : received word that Paul Metz died yesterday.  No further info.

  * 11ish barbecue at Michael's
  * 15:30 put stargate boot back to hda, because IP forwarding not enabled.  A 
    couple of weird glitches getting back, but ok now.  Required changing the
    squeeze fstab to use labels, because it becomes sdb when the HD is
    installed.

Mixed. Very mixed. Tasty food at the Baycon staff barbecue, but we also had word that a family friend had died on Saturday (now confirmed as a suicide). As far as I'm concerned this whole damned year can go back where it came from and start over.

Much of the rest of my mindspace was taken up with upgrading the router/firewall to Squeeze; this is in combination with ditching the old 3.5" hard drive and moving everything to a 500GB laptop drive. It's not all done, because of course it has to be worked on when everyone else is asleep, and I've been oversleeping myself lately.

No walk, either.
