Thankful Thursday
2025-04-24 07:57 pmToday I am grateful for...
- Atkinson Hyperlegible Font from the Braille Institute. (Although I still prefer Inconsolata for monospaced applications like terminal emulators and Emacs.)
- Thanks, too, for websites that use the reader's default fonts.
- Me, for getting through a few of the difficult things on my to-do list, one of which has been hanging around for at least a year. (NO thanks to me for dragging my feet on the rest, but I'm working on them. Slowly.)
- A purple (magnolia?)tree blossom in our front yard, and yellow tulips on the back deck. (Repeat of Sunday)
- Science.

Date: 2025-04-25 09:29 pm (UTC)My default font everywhere!
I'm lucky my 90% text creation tool is ia Writer, which comes with the very cool trio of mono, duo and Quattro.
It may have taken a while but YOU GOT IT DONE!
Re: Huzzah for Hyperlegible!
Date: 2025-04-26 06:13 am (UTC)I just looked at ia Writer -- I was all set to recommend it to N, who's the writer in the household, but it doesn't seem to support Android, and she does all her writing on her phone. I use Emacs on Linux, and mostly write in raw HTML, but I wouldn't recommend that for most people.
My DW theme, which is ancient, uses the browser's default fonts (on the assumption that it's my blog and my defaults), so when I switched my default font to Atkinson it just worked.
