& awake 6:30; snuggle.
* up 6:45; W=196.2; drugs, nose, teeth, dishes, exercise
% I'm finally getting the hang of the exercises and learning to let my
trapeziuses(?) do the work, since those are the ones I'm supposed to be
strengthening. Duh.

* productive day at work today (but no walk)
% 10:25 feeling extraordinarily unmotivated. Just vegetating. The tv is
grabbing a lot of my attention, but I don't think that's all of it. Or
even most of it.
Wow. Only 5 items in the done list. Well, as one of them says, it was a productive day at work. But I spent pretty much the entire evening in front of the TV watching "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" with Colleen; and did exactly nothing when I went in to the office at 9:30 or so. Well, ok, reading Science counts. But somehow it doesn't feel right: it's doing something, but it's not getting something done.
Story of my life, these days. Some of it may be the unsettling effect of the work change, and some may be worry. But I don't think that's everything.

Date: 2011-09-17 05:04 pm (UTC)Spending time with Colleen is in itself a positive thing to have done, be it in front of the tube or elsewhere. Reading an interesting periodical helps your own mental state by engaging it in a pleasurable activity.
You get to have time for you, too, y'know, without beating yourself up.

Date: 2011-09-17 05:39 pm (UTC)It's still really hard to take time "for myself" while there's still such a huge pile of things to be done. Including lots of things, like music and programming, that would be fun if I actually got started on them. I have to remember that I'll never make much of a dent in that pile, so an hour or two of down time doesn't matter so much.
