Done yesterday (20111003 Mo)
2011-10-04 07:40 amIt didn't feel like a very productive day, and I was definitely pretty sleepy both in the early afternoon and after dinner. But the afternoon sleepiness came after a 2.5 mile walk, so I'm not going to complain too much. But it made for a somewhat unproductive afternoon.
After looking at Ross for a cheap tennis bag (and coming up empty), and online for comparisons, I went ahead and ordered the Wilson sling bag for Plink. There are a couple of alternatives, but that's by far the least expensive one I've found, and a good fit for the guitar.
Lots of links. The nine circles of IT hell is good -- I've been in many of them -- but the best has to be the very encouraging First lady of Iceland climbs security fence to join protesters. I mean, how cool is that?
Damned if I know why I didn't start putting the notes at the bottom sooner.
1003 Mo
* up 7:15; W=200.4; drugs, nose, teeth, dishes, exercise, light
* walk: ~2.5mi to Sunnyvale-Saratoga road. Good pace
As I was turning around I realized that I might be getting sprinkled on.
Fortunately it didn't actually start raining.
| definitely out of shape.
@ why there are so many debian derivatives
: rain on the way home. More like drizzle, but the ground was wet and the
traffic on 280 was miserable. I got off at Wolff and took surface streets.
@ IT inferno: The nine circles of IT hell (gmcdavid)
* told Colleen that leaving for Orycon on Friday would save enough money to
fly Chaos home for the holidays. So that's taken care of.

I'm particularly struck by the recording environment, with the group
sitting around a table.

Date: 2011-10-05 12:30 am (UTC)They had to have had one mic aimed at each performer - they were too well balanced to have all been recorded through one mic. (And they did a good job of suppressing most of the room echo.) The "foot percussion" is fascinating. Too bad I don't understand rapidly sung Quebecois French...

Date: 2011-10-05 04:16 am (UTC)You can see the vocal mics in the video; I'm not sure what they're using on the instruments, but I assume something. Yeah; the foot percussion is terrific.
ETA: fixed. Thanks.

Date: 2011-10-05 05:48 am (UTC)Foot percussion seems to be something akin to tap-dancing while sitting down - a truly remarkable art ;-)
