Most of the non-human critters on earth are violent as well. Mosquitoes. Ow! Big fish have bigger fish to bite 'em, and on and on ad infinitum. Seen on a button years ago: instant universe: just add infinitum.
I've always thought world peace would come about when aliens finally discovered (or more likely, made themselves known to) us. All of those "not us-es" to hate; suddenly other humans would at least be human.
