The weather was cool and overcast when I first went out, and everything was wet after a night and morning of rain. But everything was bright and sunny when I went to work. I ended up taking only a short walk, though, both because it was running late and I didn't really feel like going out. A nice little percolation pond, with birds. Geese, ducks, a pair of swans, a couple of black birds I couldn't identify, a kingfisher and a seagull.

In keeping with the household network's naming scheme, the router will probably be called polaris.thestarport.org when we finally move. No idea what the apartment will be called; we'll figure that out after we get there.

The grieving finally hit me late in the afternoon as I was starting to go through my email archives. It wasn't until I was going home that I actually identified it; that's doing pretty well, for me. Alexithymia has its uses, I guess: I don't seem to feel emotions as intensely as most people. It's going to be worse packing up the house and leaving the Bay Area, but I suppose I'll manage.

    to show up.  But recognizing it after only a couple of hours is doing pretty
    well, for me.

So y'all are totally set on Pugetopilis? If you are, I'm thinking for what you want, Shoreline really is about the best... unless you land Google Kirkland, which case, well, Kirkland is quite nice.

What specifically - other than proximity to filk - are you looking for in a neighborhood? I've been here going on 13 years, and have lived everywhere from Renton to Lake Forest Park to Kirkland, and am familiar with various bits as far out as Mill Creek, Monroe, Duvall, Carnation, Kent, Burien, and West Seattle. And, whatever you do, don't get too far south... If the Mountain takes a rumbly in his tumbly, I want to hear that you and your place is *safe*.

Yup, totally. And yes, Shoreline is the epicenter -- we're mainly looking to be close to Naomi. A 2-bedroomish apartment, and preferably someplace where Colleen can get to things on her scooter.

And, innnnnnnteresting on segmented sleep! I've actually been *doing* that a little of late... I'll wake up about 1 or 2, goof around online for an hour, maybe have an idea or an insight... and then go back to bed and be up just about the time the alarm hits. So this is actually *natural!* Tres cool.
