PSA: meta: anonymous comments disabled on LJ

Because of the recent major increase in anonymous spam comments on LJ, I have disabled them there. Either register, or come on over to Dreamwidth where anonymous comments are still enabled. Besides, I can always use more comments on the DW side.

Also, I've pretty much stopped posting "hippo birdie" posts, in part because the LJ portal is going away, and in part because I've taken the LJ portal and home page off my "AM" list. They were pretty useless to begin with and have become more so. With the demise of birthday posts, I now have no unique content on LJ -- it's all cross-posted from DW.

Just opened an account here so I don't have to comment anonymously. However I expect to stay with LJ unless it gets completely out of hand - the last two "outside" accounts I opened up because I thought LJ was going to collapse have long since vanished with the journals I took them out in. So no paid account yet, but I'm sorta here and I do have a journal entry and may add more at some point.

As for hippo birdie, I've been doing a lot of that over on Facebook myself and yes, while I know the original source you did kinda inspire it. They have that nice habit of giving me lists of friends with birthdays each week and while I like to make up silly scenarios, there's a limit to how much imagination I have available.
