Colleen came home this evening, after 12 hours shy of a week in the hospital. It took until nearly 5pm to get her discharge paperwork, and then we had to stop off at Walgreen's to get her new prescriptions filled. Some high-powered anti-hypertension stuff in there: ACE inhibitor, beta blocker, calcium channel blocker, and a diuretic. Gleep.

But she's home, with normal blood pressure and with the PRES resolving, the UTI cleared up, and the pneumonia taken care of. Gleep gleep.

I can haz Colleen. That's the important thing.

... so I can start work at Amazon tomorrow. Tired bear is tired! Gleep.

I am so glad she is home, and that you have a job. And may her being able to come home just before the job starts be the sign of things looking up and up and up in general.

Do you get an employee discount at Amazon? :-)

That's great! I'm sure you'll do much better at Amazon without having to worry about Colleen being in the hospital. Good luck with the new position, and happy thoughts to the pair of ya.

I'm glad she's home and doing so much better on the various medical fronts.

Having multiple types of BP medication is pretty common - and even then the results are often poor (and/or side effects are too large). So if she's getting good results with the ones she is now on, GREAT!

I once went on a theraputic trial for MY high BP. Week 0, one type. At week 2, added a 2nd type. At week 4, added a 3rd type. At week 6, added a 4th type. After 8 weeks, this combination had dropped my BP by only 10 points (systolic) and the side effects were too great to continue.

I wound up going with a comprehensive nutritional approach, and got much better results (dropped 40 points in 8 weeks) and almost no side effects. There's just so much variation between people in what is wrong and what it takes to help them and how the side effects go. So if Colleen has found what works for her, YAY!

Hugs to you *both*

I will continue to keep all y'all in my prayers. I hope your work at Amazon goes smoothly and well, and that Colleen continues to get better.

Tell her not to over-do. I was *wild* to get out of the hospital and into my own space last week after surgery; I'm sure she's the same.
