Amethyst Rose: 14
2004-08-04 11:51 pmShe would have been fourteen years old today, our other daughter who never was. Her name was -- and will always be -- Amethyst Rose. (edit: this year's post)
My writeup of LinuxWorld Expo can wait, I guess. It's pretty late.

Date: 2004-08-05 11:08 am (UTC)I got a terse reply from her husband, that things were okay. THAT told me there was something wrong.
She'd delivered Ariel on her own birthday, only to find an acephalic infant who would die the next day. While my amnio had been oh-so-carefully watched the last several months, hers had not--she'd had two healthy daughters before, there was no reason to think she wouldn't have another healthy daughter (Ed apparently only throws daughers, which is good, considering that's what he wanted). I had the healthy child, and she was left with an unhappy termination to her pregnancy.
I don't forget Ariel, but she keeps the vigil much the same way your family does.
My commiserations.
