So the govenrnment is shut down because the Republicans don't want to accept the fact that the ACA is the law of the land, and that on the whole people are benefiting from it. Idiots. Meanwhile their popularity is sinking like a proverbial rock, and one can only hope that the voters have long memories. They don't, of course.

There's good news in the household, though. The YD has broken up with her unsuitable boyfriend, on the advice of her best friend. Yay! It's going to be hard on her for a little while, but it's a very good thing. He's a creep.

And Colleen finally saw her doctor, who cleared her to put full weight on her formerly-broken ankle. This should clear the way for the PT to work on getting her walking again.

We spoke to somebody from a financial management firm about my rollover IRAs; we almost certainly need management, but it's likely not to be Fisher Investments.

So, on the whole, things are looking up.

    ultrasound, so there's almost certainly nothing to worry about.  Felt remarkably like
    somebody poking little needles into my butt from the inside a dozen times.  Oh.  Right.

    with Google.  :P  Also, the S3mini lacks several features from the S3, including the
    ability to mount as usb mass storage!!!  That may be a deal-killer for me, though not
    for Colleen.  And where are my apps?  I can't get a list of what I own -> website

  : Interesting dream:  sort of a LARP, except it was a huge village and people lived
    there.  I recognized the style of architecture from some video game that I've never
    played IRL.  And there was a talking cow, who wanted to leave but was very upset when
    I told her that cows were _eaten_ outside of game space.
      The second dream, after waking up to change C, involved writing software for an
    instrument package that was going to be sent up with a balloon.

  * Check out the drive from N's old laptop (the one the cat broke).  Looks like it needs
    an fsck; only the recovery partition mounted cleanly.
  * Look for Honda's pink slip (only it's green in WA) in case we might want to trade it
    in.  Took a while to find, since it wasn't in the safe with the van's, but in a stack
    of stuff that I threw into a box rather than sort before we moved.
  * 11ish get Colleen into chair for trip to Shoreline clinic
  * 1ish go car shopping with Naomi at Bill Pierre Ford on Lake City Way
    -> test drove the Fusion and C-MAX plug-in hybrids.  Opted for the C-MAX, as having
       a noticably better ride, though somewhat fewer luxury features.  It will primarily
       be N's commute car
  & Stopped at YuShan for Chinese to go.
