Short one this time, to close out the month. Sunday I fired up the Mac Mini, loaded up the software that I still think of as TaxCut even though H+R Block renamed it several years ago, and did a rough cut. Ouch. I haven't touched my taxes since Sunday, but it really improved my mood to find out that I could pay in installments. Improved it temporarily, anyway. Dysthymia never really goes away. I still need to track down the rest of my deductions, but I have the biggest ones in, so the bottom line won't change more than a couple of grand.

       up the damned Mac Mini, which had gone to sleep.
  * taxes.  YIPE!  OK, we'll be owing less than $20K.  Probably more than 15K.  Should
    have put my hiring bonus aside; it'll just about cover the tax on the stocks I sold to
    buy the house.  OK, I'm an idiot.
  * 15min:  brought up an ugly but fairly sturdy shelf set for the printer and paper, and
    moved the pretty but shaky bamboo-and-wire shelves to the rainbow room to reduce the
    phone clutter in the SE corner.

  ~ Stupid Union Bank website doesn't have my impound breakdown online.  Found the paper
    version.  Doesn't explicitly show insurance, but shows tax and total.  I'll take it.
  & found a check for an impound surplus.  I can damned well use it this month.
