Done last year (20141228 Su - 31 We)
2015-01-01 09:53 amWell, the last few days of last year, anyway. I did a sort of review post yesterday, and should probably do something more cheerful and forward-looking today. But for now...
I also posted my borscht recipe, and sent it to Mom (who's been looking for one for decades).
Dealt with brokenness in LinkedIn that, as I should have realized, was easily solved by tossing its cookies. But, you know, it's not hard to build a website -- even one that uses redirect links -- that doesn't break when its cookies go stale. Amazon and Google do it quite well, thank you.
Managed to get checks sent to a couple of charities. Two got left on my desk, but it turned out that those were among the ones I sent money to over two months ago. Apparently my memory is even worse than I remember it being. Or something like that.
Links in the notes.
1228 Su Mom's birthday
* up 8:15; W=213.6
* amazon: * nitrile gloves for upstairs. * naproxen, * wipes, * cat6 coupler
* Donated a goat via Heifer. Email to Mom (for her birthday) and N.
* buy: Method laundry (QFC) and dish soap (Walgreens) refills.
* amazon: tryptophan 500mg -> put on subscription
* call Mom
-> she wants my borscht recipe! She remembers her mother making a hot borscht.
@ HyperSpace has net lists for 120-cell among others
* Cleaned up old makefiles in vv/web -- at this point Public and penguinsong are the
main offenders.
* posted Borscht recipe. Copy in PJ as a draft.
1229 Mo
* up 6:15; ;
* Took in the new *purple!* rolling backpack. It's not particularly easy to get the
sling bag in and out of the main compartment; if I'm going to use it much I'll
probably want to use a small shoulder bag or clutch rather than Max, or else _wear_
the sling.
" Linkedin is badly broken in Chrome -- whenever I click on a link to an article it
takes me back to the home page. It works fine in iceweasel on Debian stable. There
appears to be no support or contact information on the home page, either; maybe
somebody will notice if I post it. (There does appear to be a "send feedback" link on
the inbox page; I'll try that, but since I've *never* gotten a company to listen to my
complaints about their website, and given Linkedin's overall track record, I don't
have much hope.) If you're wondering why your article's hit count is low, maybe that's
why" (posted on LinkedIn. Not linked for reasons that may be apparent.)

* up 6:35; W=214.0;
* Clearing cookies fixed linkedin. I first tried it in what Chrome calls an "incognito
window"; I believe Firefox calls it "private". When I saw that that worked, I cleared
all cookies associated with LinkedIn - there were dozens, of course.

: Desti makes an excellent lap-cat.
* boxed up the tree
* sort charities and subscriptions to renew.
1231 We
* Up 5:50; W=214.0;
* as it turns out, all the stamps were at work. And also as it turns out, some of the
charity checks I wrote were to charities I paid at the end of October. Fortunately I
hadn't mailed them, because I couldn't find the stamps. :P
* A reasonably productive day at work, writing unit tests.
* pay charities
& It appears I ordered ibuprofen instead of naproxen, because it turned up third in my
search on Amazon and I apparently wasn't paying attention. *sigh* Well, some people
in the house do use it.
: I have a Desti on my desk, on the cat pad. Thank Bast for the cats!
* cleanup in to.do and wibnif.do ~25 items cleared by 9:30pm
* email link to borscht recipe to Mom
% really badly congested. Ugh. I wonder whether we have champaigne.
@ Google got it wrong. The open-office trend is destroying the workplace.
