Done this week (20150118 Su - 24 Sa)
2015-01-25 09:01 amUnlike many previous weeks, this one appears to have gone from bad to good (see mood). This is almost entirely because of yesterday -- I got the pot rack up (finally), found a replacement post for the broken one on the cat tree, had a pleasant conversation with a stranger, and noticed that I was cheerful on the way back from getting dinner.
That's the big one -- I wasn't depressed, and I noticed that I wasn't depressed. At the time. And even had a fairly accurate name for it. I fully expect to go back to dysthymia and alexithymia tomorrow, but for now, I'll take it.
We had two technician visits -- one for the phone (which had become unreliable due to the rat's nest of wires in the garage), and one for Colleen's medical equipment. It looks like Spinlife will make good on the bungled orders and repairs, but it's still taking altogether too long.
I've been fairly productive, even apart from the pot rack, with garage-clearing.
Notable quote from a week ago: "Villain's cat. Because if I can't feel good about myself, I can at least feel *evil* about myself." Which probably sums things up pretty well for the week.

* 15min: packed up the last of the wrapping paper into the organizer.
% unfortunately, this damaged my back, as one could expect from being slightly bent
over for any length of time.
% Multiple fails. I do not feel good about myself. And I have three more feedbacks to
write; at least one and preferably two more this weekend. Meaning today. Suckage.
~ put up pot rack -> fail. The toggle bolts I got don't work, and I got the holes lined
up wrong. One hook is solidly in a beam, so it may be salvagable.
" The problem is that Republicans are really good at pitching to people who don't
think. Half of this is by encouraging fear and hatred; the other half is by
encouraging anti-intellectualism." f(me)
* (yesterday) did a Thankful post; made a turkey icon for it.

* (finally!) finished peer feedback for A -- this is undoubtedly the hardest thing so
far about working for Amazon. Two more to go, but one is undated and the other isn't
due til the end of the month.
* 10am Jim Hale (Spinlife) - The motor assembly and electronics package were also wrong,
and he doesn't have the tools to replace inner tubes -- try a bike shop. Spinlife
apparently thinks we only had one lift chair to fix. GOOD GRIEF.
-> the problem with the scooter is the throttle pot; it works if you don't pull it
back all the way.
* verified that the work laptop has to be booted while attached to the dock in order to
recognize the dock's display. Grumble.

@ Most of you have no idea what Martin Luther King actually did (thnidu)
0120 Tu
* up 6:05; W=211.0; laundry, dishes
* Called CenturyLink - apparently our line had gotten re-provisioned for a lower speed.
* 1pm leave for dentist. N's scooter, because Colleen's is unusable at the moment.
* 2pm Colleen dentist

0124 Sa
* up 6:30; W=214.4; Shower, laundry
* 15min: brought up the white Antec case; no hard drive. Formerly Harmony, I think.
* 15min: changed userid on Cygnus to match Nova, to make it feasible to use the archive
drive. Re-added engelbert - less useful now that all home directories are encrypted
by default, but needed anyway in order to change the userid -- you can't do that if
the user you want to change has a running process.
* 15min: garage puttering.
* Found and ordered a replacement post for the cat tree. It ships from the UK. Petco
to find the brand, Google to find the item on Amazon UK, cut and paste ASIN. The item
name is in French. There don't appear to be any US sources for Trixie spare parts.
Trixie's website is just a flash-based copy of their catalog.
* put up pot rack. Two molly bolts, and one more wood screw. Used one of the Spax T20
screws, because the ones that came with the hooks proved themselves worthless. Which
means that there are two slotted screws, a T20. and a crap slotted/phillips. *sigh*
& Barbecue for dinner. Two chickens and a slab of ribs -- could have gotten away with
half that. Barely. Yay for leftovers!
! Noticed on the way back that I was *not depressed*! Cheerful, in fact. Partly this
was from having a nice conversation with the young lady at the counter. But still.
This is big BOTH because I was _cheerful_, and because I _noticed_.
* Mounted archive; doing a du on it is s l o w.
* 15min: brought up a box of fabric, and one of books (in two parts, because heavy)
