Long, stressful week. Monday I posted In Your Arms, about my cat Curio. Yesterday, the washer we'd ordered arrived, for the second time, damaged. (Our old upstairs washer died July 6, for those of you keeping score.) In between I've mostly been working.

I've just finished compiling the timeline for the whole sorry tale of our experiences with Home Depot over the last 3 1/2 months. I'll post it tomorrow. tl;dr: buy appliances from somewhere else.

No word yet about the home equity line of credit I applied for last week; apparently the documents I sent didn't go through because their email system blocks encrypted zip files. Damned if I'll send that stuff in the clear. I'm not optimistic.

  * Called Safeco because payment was one day overdue; as it turned out they hadn't taken
    the Starport off the bill, nor the Honda.  So the bill will be a lot less than
    expected.  It will help.  I'm to call again on Tuesday when the quote is ready; the
    insurance will stay in force with no late fees until then.  I win.
  & Fed and watered the piggies.  (Fed the cats, but I always do that in the morning and
    often at night, along with scooping two of the litterboxes.)

  * a little book sorting.  The shelves behind the desk, so I did considerably more
    knee-bending than I should have.

    -> washer was damaged.
  * book sorting - cleared out the shelves under the desk.  Mostly C/N's, but with a weird
    few of C/S mixed in.
  % turns out that anger and frustration are very tiring.
  & Colleen ordered pizza for the two of us -- Zeke's had something called "Legion of
    Shrooms" with multiple types of mushroom, goat cheese, and sausage.  Yum.
  * 8ish finished putting the stairlift back together.  Did it in two stages with a
    substantial rest in between.  Still tired.

So sorry about Curio! They always leave a cat-shaped hole in your heart, don't they? I wrote "Love and Heartbreak from Meowmie" when Freya died (it's in my memories).

It's nice to read things about the Republican party imploding... but I doubt.

But I suppose I'll find out in a year or so. :)

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble buying (and installing) a god damned clothes washer.
