Short week, since I want to close out the year. Not a good year.

Not a particularly bad week, but not all that productive, either. Rather nice New Year's Eve with the Zoo -- four of Emmy's friends who have become friends with Colleen as well. Unfortunately, they live in Tacoma, so they can't come over all that often. Cheese boards for dinner.

More research and reading on tiny houses. This week the main focus was on shipping containers and bus conversions; I also finished reading Mud Ball: 6 weeks, $6000 and Plenty of Dirt. Fun. That was interesting in part because the author was 40 when she built it. Currently reading a blog, 40x28 | Building Our Shipping Container Home -- fun, but those people are a lot younger.

Last night I posted my Year-end Wrap-Up; I think there's more to be said there, but that's a start. A lot to regret, which doesn't come through, and needs more analysis.

  % woke up around 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.  Worried about insurance. Not
    really a good time to be thinking about it, but there you go.
  & used Blackroot for a while; the battery is in pretty bad shape, and there's no swap
    space.  Need to fix that.
  * Tracked down YD's birth cert. and SS card (currently in safe, on top where they'll be
    easy to find)
  * verified that, in fact, we probably don't have current  insurance on Felicity.
  * Huge pile of uncashed checks, including at least 2 years worth of Exxon dividends
    Talk about self-sabotage.  OTGH my $A RSUs vested back on the 15th and are worth a
    good deal more than I expected.  Officially no longer worried about cost of remodel.
    Still tight, and I'm probably better off not using that money right now.
  * 8:30 DONE with sorting pass over the unopened mail.  A few immediate attention items,
    plus a lot of stuff that should at least be looked at before tossing, and a (trimmed)
    pile of charities.  About 2 hours' worth?  Something like that.
  * Call PLC insurance and add Felicity and N to my Safeco policy.

  * N and G leave for Portland in the evening; back Monday
  * 15min: sorted the charities and subscriptions.  under 20 of them.  Might even have
    enough stamps. -> 10:15 DONE
