Conflikt was this last weekend; I'm posting on Monday so as to get in the whole con, as well as the end of the month. It was a pretty good con, though I ended up doing very little singing. Missed the smoked salmon (dead dog) filk -- Colleen was fading and neither of us was willing to spend much more money on hotel food. Dinners were bar snacks, because they were cheaper.

I had conversations with two new (to me) people, and did a little catching up though not as much as I often do. I actually spent much of my time listening to concerts and working on my lyrics-to-html conversion. Which looks really good now, since it no longer relies on monospaced fonts. Not on the site yet, though.

Also not on the site yet is my Sasquan concert, which I finally got the audio for.

In other news, there are lots of good links, mostly related to tiny houses. If it wasn't for the possibility of eventually moving into someplace we can actually afford I would have no hope at all. Even with that, it will probably come too late, and our house will take too long to sell. I've been making some progress at work, but it's like slogging through mud.

Financial ruin is only a paycheck away, and despair is never far from the front of my mind. I have noone to blame but myself, of course.

That sounds like terrific productivity!

On your behalf and on the behalf of so many others--
I blame the socio-economic systems we have constructed, that make decent life unaffordable to most workers, and I blame us who have permitted or chosen those systems.

However, that does sound to me like avery productive week.

*hugs* Mandelbear.

I'm not quite sure what your lyrics to HTML conversion is. I find monospace fonts very useful for keeping the chords above their corresponding words in a document that is easy to send to others and explain how to print out. But there is ChordPro format, which several different programs can use, and some of those programs have extremely useful characteristics like the ability to transpose.

I have to admit I have no ideal how using tables would work; I can use tables but you must be doing something dynamic with the cell sizes to avoid having wordwrap within cells--or maybe generating separate tables of one row, each of which contains the chords for the line below (which is not in a table)? Okay so maybe I can see how using tables would work; in any case if they work for you, more power to you.

I use a pre tag and spaces to align the chords but it does limit me to a font that some people really hate, so there's that.

I've been enjoying all the links, and I hope you find a tiny house layout that works for what you need.

But, on the + side, at least disaster *is* at least a paycheck away...not much consolation, but its something.

We make do with what we have, and can, sometimes just day to day, but most of the time, that's enough.
