Thankful Thursday
2016-03-24 09:00 pmIt's actually Thursday, and today I an thankful for...
- Free drinks (courtesy of $WORK's team event).
- Commuting by bus. See above.
- My therapist. It isn't so much about therapy as having someone to talk to who can point out that things aren't as wretched as they feel.
- Bernie Sanders.
- Walking, and finding that my self-talk isn't completely toxic this time.
- Belize.
- My kids. Who are turning out to be very nice people, even if it is unlikely that they'll be able to support me in my old age.
- The cats, and especially Ticia. Except when they're walking on my keyboard.
Belize?

Thank you for being amazing-- you are one of the 'things' I am most thankful for, and you should know that.

Date: 2016-03-25 01:02 pm (UTC)When I retire, we won't be able to afford our house. So we're looking at tiny houses, and places to put them. Belize is an amazingly cheap place to live. And a fascinating place in general.

Checks utterly empty calendar for 2018 or later--- Yeah, I think I could squeeze out time to visit, and finally meet you in person after you retire to paradise!
LOL. (Not unless invited, really! But I used to mock-threaten to hide in Dad's luggage when HE retired, for similar reasons.)
It sounds like a GREAT idea. Would you be looking at one of the bigger cities, or a more tourist-driven town?

Date: 2016-03-27 12:33 am (UTC)We'd be looking at semi-rural areas within a short drive of a city, and away from the beach. (It's cooler at higher altitudes, and cheaper.)
