Not all that good a week. Continued lack of productivity at work, mainly because of meetings this time, but still... I want to take a vacation after Westercon, but I have goals that I can't meet if I do. Bletch.

I haven't done much writing, either. A reasonable amount on Monday, but only a little after that. Grump. Did do more cooking than usual: chicken tikka masala on Monday, and beef Stroganoff yesterday. That was a real win. Lots of shrooms. I note in passing that while Cash and Carry has great prices, it doesn't have a very big selection, and few if any small packages.

On the plus side, I did a pretty good job of noticing and identifying my mood Friday. On the minus side, the mood in question was despair. Cat therapy helps, but not completely.

A fair amount of computer-related work -- got my raspberry pi up and running, with both Raspbian and OSMC (on different cards). OSMC (Open Source Media Center) looks like it would work well as a music and video player. Being one of the original cards, it doesn't have much in the way of RAM, so it wouldn't work as a desktop with my current workload. I also swapped my desktop machine for one of the two that have been sitting behind my desk ever since we moved in.

Moderate amount of house-project work.

: apparently what you need to get a Raspberry Pi -- at least an old one like mine --
to boot NOOBS is a card formatted as FAT32, *not* FAT32-LBA. Also the so-called 4G
card I had on hand is actually 3.something, which is too small for a straight raspbian
image, which is a shade over 4G. NOOBS flaked out on raspbian; might work on the
small card for one of the media player images.
& made myself fried matzoh, because Dad taught me to make it (though I used g's recipe,
but in Dad's format, i.e., not scrambled).
  * add openssh-server and mkdir .ssh/controlmasters to bootstrap
  * the raspbian image worked fine, though. (Despite having an LBA boot partition)
-> resized root partition, too. Based on lxde. With only what looks like 500MB of
RAM, it's not going to be much use as a desktop. however...
-> Installing OSMC on the 4G card--it's Debian based. The media player is

  * Good day at work; not extremely productive, but ok, and things have definitely
lightened up. Takes a lot of the pressure off.
  * Chicken Tika for dinner -- G' did most of the prep, presumably under C's direction.

  * move desk back a couple of inches and slide snowflake into the resulting space; retire

  * come up with a decision on Westercon. N said she would advise going. Need to see

    Meetings.
  * pancakes and eggs for dinner.
& Some time searching back in the River posts looking for "advice on dating a
neurotypical". Didn't find much -- apparently giving advice seems like it would be
presuming that I know how to do that. And I obviously don't. Apparently my
technique, such as it is, is to let the other person start the conversation, and then
have absolutely no limits on how deep it can go. I think it's worked twice. Not a
    good track record.
  * 175 words or so in my Thankful Thursday post. Not a whole lot, but something.
: It's noticably quieter with Algol turned off.
  * DVI cable for Snowflake, since it's the one I'll be using the most.

~ mostly-unproductive day. Mostly-unproductive _week_ at work. Advanced on two APIs,
but not much. Too many meetings and distractions; it seems to take me way too long to
get back into a groove. Found myself at 4pm looking for the form I'd found *last*
Friday; asked for help after about 45minutes. Feh!
: OTOH, I was somewhat surprised to find my checkbook balance still positive after last
night's transfers. Just barely, but I'll take it.
: Obama-related traffic meant that it took me an hour to get home. Most of it on Lenora

: Katy and Jess here; much cooking. Yummy soup, challah, salad, preserves...
% caught myself with my face in my hands (not uncommon) whimpering to myself (very
    uncommon). I don't think I'm completely well.
: Finished going back over the River posts; apparently they stop at 500. Which *SUCKS*,
because I know there were more I'm not seeing.

& experimented with xmonad on Cygnus; apparently bigger monitors are no problem for the
current version. (The problem with my work machine, which is running Ubuntu 14.04, is
that undocking makes xmonad think that the laptop screen has suddenly lost half its
height. This may actually be a gnome problem, but it's still a problem.)

It will need 5' shelves; there are two, which will need cleanup.
