Cat desk

Once again I find myself at the end of the day with no post, and a very uncertain schedule for the evening because Colleen is in the hospital again. But I ran across this intriguing piece of furniture elsenet:

No doubt the cats would spend most of their time on my keyboard anyway. Because cats.

I may have found my next woodworking project.

I like the concept, but from the look of it, I would be bashing my knees on the middle-ramp ALL the time. They hurt just thinking of it!

The "ramp too steep" idea they had might do better, if the ramps were coated with sisal rope or carpet... Or had little stairsteps...

Cat desk?

Would be pointless here. If the cat wants my attention, he simply stands on my KEYBOARD.

I've thought of trying to install a batting cage around my desk to exclude the cats, however.

One of ours sits on it. Or lies down on it. The other one mostly doesn't, but she puts her paws on my leg when she wants attention. I tried working in a room that I could shut them out of, but the scratching at the door was almost as distracting as a cat on the keyboard.

I've had some success setting up a cat tree next to my work surface. And in the old house putting a box on my desk worked quite well. So there's hope for the cat desk or some variation.

It's just been explained to me that I had best move things out of the way so that one of my cats can get to the cat bed on my desk, so it's definitely a thing that _can_ work, though of course it depends on the cat.
