So. Productive week? I made two major posts (on Git for Poets and climate change), plus two birthday posts (for me and Colleen, the latter doubling as a s4s post). And some progress on $GIG (about 2k words, out of a projected maybe 10K).

I've been down to visit Colleen roughly every other day, alternating with (caregiver) V. Rather glad I haven't been trying for a job that would require commuting, though I guess I've proved that it would be possible. I'm also not sure I could handle full-time work of any kind at this point. Housework and family work have been uncomfortably close to full time the last couple of weeks.

The cats have been very supportive. We have excellent cats.

  * up 7am; W=198.4, S=6:40; shower
  * some work on tutorial - unit 2, installation
  : DST, which I only noticed because my computer disagreed with the microwave.
  : C still in bed; there are a walker and wheelchair in the room but she hasn't been out.
    didn't sleep well because IV painful

  : 2ish C out of bed and in the wheelchair; went for an explore. Plink.
  : Cygnus's touchpad flaky. Editing on console. :P
  : PT was here 2:30ish; she took a few steps with the walker.
  : 4ish touchpad seems mostly better; apparently got slightly wet.
    -> I spoke too soon. Turned it off -- fortunately moving it with the trackpoint
       suppresses the touchpad jitter. Keep wanting to use it, but I'll get by.
  % drive home was brutal - straight into the sun for way too long, too many times
    -> put my floppy hat into my backpack.
  % worn out? restless? Maybe it's recovery from stress? I can't tell.
  : 9pm touchpad seems stable now. But good to know that Cygnus is quite usable without

  * Up 5ish; S=6:02;
  * am: worked about 2 hours on $GIG. Mostly research and experimentation rather than
    actual writing.

  & Looks like my preferred eBook reader is going to be nov.el, an Emacs mode for reading
    .epub files. (the package is just called "nov")
  ~ went to garage plannung to restack boxes; too heavy. Many cardboard boxes are
    deteriorating from damp floors or excessive load. Going to have to make some actual
    bookshelves down there.
  & extended my word-count program (originally for NaBloPoMo) to handle drafts as well

      and the longer you put it off, the harder it becomes to face, and the worse the
      feeling of guilt and shame becomes, until it feeds on itself? " Ouch!

  : arrived 11:30ish; PT was there; she had walked from the bed to the wheelchair parked
    about 6' from the foot of the bed, and back. She also has a bad cold and is having
    trouble breathing.  Lots of tears.
  : Sang Lily et. al. after her second PT appointment.
  : 3pm PA (physician assistant, i.e. not a doctor) came in briefly. Nebulizer every 4
    hours. Fever but it's going down. Waiting for a urine culture.

  ~ updated body-text.html. Not working correctly in steve/Songs; lgf still relies on

       either.  Weird.
