Colleen is out of the hospital and in rehab, as of Monday evening. (It was going to be Sunday afternoon, but there was a series of delays. Amusing in retrospect, but very nerve-wracking at the time.) Hopefully she'll be strong enough to get to at least one day of RainbowCon next weekend; probably Sunday.

I'm still worried -- the next infection is only a matter of time. And still processing stuff, I guess. Past time to talk about EOL planning, so I'm glad we've at least started.

Between visits to Colleen and trying to get back into finishing up $GIG, I haven't gotten a whole lot else done.

reading fiction that talks about mental states correlates with ability to model them.
" a clear link between people’s mentalizing skills and the books on their
nightstands. In a study led by Raymond Mar, voracious readers of fiction were better
than lighter consumers of fiction at making nuanced social judgments based on
limited information—for example, deciphering complex emotions by looking at
photographs of people’s eyes, and using subtle cues in videos of social interactions
(such as guessing who was the child of the two adults in the video based on body
language, tone of voice, and other nonverbal information).3 Heavy readers of
expository nonfiction showed the opposite pattern, performing worse than lighter
readers of nonfiction. Other research, using similar tests, has found a specific
advantage for reading literary fiction4 compared with popular genre fiction, or for
romance fiction5 over science fiction. "

I'm glad to read Colleen is feeling better and out of the hospital! *Hugs* to her and you!

Do you do your raw notes on paper and type them later or do you use an app?

That's encouraging.

Hooray for C in rehab. Whatever physical benefits the hospital provide, it's so demoralizing mentally.

Also, hooray for you banging out that informative post in the middle of chaos!

I'm very, very happy to hear how well Colleen is doing! (And I know how frustrated she must be when she finds that she can't do more!) Picture me waving my cane (with its gaudy tassel) at her like a cheerleader waving pompoms :-)

The Firefox kerfuffle didn't affect SeaMonkey, which supposedly uses a lot of Firefox's internal workings. I really love SeaMonkey - it's really Netscape for the third millennium.
