Done Since 2019-05-19
2019-05-26 01:20 pmNot a disastrous week, but not all that good either. Colleen continues to improve, but is still on IV antibiotics. I did a lot of commuting (to be fair, so did V, only not as much). Very little writing -- only the usual DW entries plus one PSA.

I'm not very good at human, and I certainly don't have enough self-confidence for cat. I might be able to manage bunny.

* Up 4:30ish; ; some nice cat time
: I'd put two bottles of milk in the box room fridge for the Milk and Cookies circle;
they weren't used because someone else had bought a gallon. They were brought into
the house after the con; today when I finished the gallon and went to open one I found
that they'd gone bad. Did the box room fridge ever get plugged in?
-> yes, but the power strip was off when I checked.
* down to visit C; stopped at Sprouts and got some sushi; arrived ~12:35 at Prestige
-> C not doing all that well. New antibiotic, for one thing. More edema; pain.
homesick. Missing the cats. Crying sometimes.

* called about C's missed GI and urogynechology appointments 4/24 and 4/25. The second
one, at UW, is going to involve trying to set up an eCare account in _her_ name, which
is a bit of a problem. Would prefer actual email, but they don't use it. (Which,
considering the health care industry's casual attitude toward security, is probably a
good thing. But annoying.
->"(This is Colleen's husband Steve; I had to create her an eCare account in order to
get in touch with you.)
Colleen had an appointment with you 3/19 to discuss bladder removal; at that time
you also removed her foley catheter.
4/15 she was taken to the ER at WhidbeyHealth Medical Center; she was diagnosed
with several different highly-resistant UTIs, hydronephrosis, and renal tubular
acidosis (I think there was a fourth problem, but my memory is a little hazy on
that point). She was still there 4/25, the date of her missed appointment with
Dr. Miller. (I called UWMC about that earlier today after having received a letter
about the missed appointment, but I'm not sure I was able to get that information
across.)
She is currently in rehab (again) at Premiere, in Edmonds; they put her back on IV
antibiotics for yet another two infections a couple of days ago.
I'm not sure what the point of this message is, but I thought you ought to know.
Any advice you might have, or referrals you could make, would be appreciated. "
* Went out and did battle with the hemlock. About one large plant and half of another,

: The N key on Cygnus is definitely on the way out -- cleaning under it with a

worry, discomfort, despair, and grief, like nowhere else in the world, except maybe

be traumatized, and have nobody care, or even notice, but encourage, cheer on, and
applaud just that process of traumatization. "
