It hasn't been a bad week, and my mood's been mostly okay, and Colleen's health seems to be improving slowly but continues to be worrisome. She's been out of the hospital and doing pretty well for the last two weeks, but yesterday started looking a little worse, and we know from experience just how quickly that can go south.

I have spent most of the week on a Julian of Norwich kick. The Short Text turns out to be quite difficult to find; unlike the Long Text it doesn't seem to be online at all, either in Middle English or in translation. I ended up getting the Penguin Classics edition, which has a pretty decent translation of both, and reading the Short Text. (See this "Songs for Saturday" post.

N came up for the Fourth and stayed for the weekend; we got to do a little singing this morning.

long text, Middle English. The short text does not appear to be online at all. The
Penguin edition has translations (and short extracts from the originals) of both:
Revelations of Divine Love (Short Text and Long Text): Julian of Norwich, Elizabeth
Spearing, A. C. Spearing; the Kindle edition appears to be totally disconnected and hard to reach by clicking.
I found it by following the Kindle link from penguin.com, and editing the URL from
amazon.com.au to amazon.com. Currently reading it.
I have the Kindle edition of Revelations of Divine Love: Julian of Norwich, Grace Warrack
and cancelled an order for: Julian of Norwich's 'Revelations of Divine Love': The Shorter Version ed. from B L
Add. MS 37790 (Middle English Texts): Frances Beer

You're juggling a LOT of things, so you *are* working on a lot right now, it's just not stuff you've chosen.

I'm glad a 600-year old mystic's words still have such power for you.
