Thursday? Already? That was just... Okay, today I'm grateful for...

• Colleen being out of the hospital for another week.
• Very low hard disk prices.
• The realization that my main problem is stress rather than depression or anxiety. (No thanks for the stress, of course!)
• Whidbey Home Health.

Hard Disk Price Drops

...never fail to astound me.

(At my mid-80s software company, we were thrilled to purchase a 20mb hard drive for $2000.)

The price of rotating magnetic storage has been dropping steadily at roughly 50%/year since the 1950s. It's faster than Moore's law, by a lot. I believe it's slowing down a little now, but only because it's getting harder to find workarounds for the physics.
