Today I am grateful for...

• having Colleen home again;
• ciprofloxacin;
• helpful people;
• bagels and lox and other comfort foods;
• the ability to jury-rig gadgets when I need them.

Heh, funny coincidence. I did the original research work on ciprofloxacin way back in the 80's. My tutor, Prof Crumplin was the pioneer who developed topoisomerase-inhibitor class drugs, and that was the one I got handed to work on. I was one of a dozen under-grads at the time working for him.

Heh, it's ok. It just gives me a bit of a kick to see it mentioned..

The really amusing thing is that I got a really bad [potentially fatal] kidney infection a few years ago.. and guess which drug they used to treat it!
