mdlbearMy self-talk this week has been uncharacteristically non-negative, and occasionally sort of ?cheerful? From Monday's notes, when I first noticed it:
My self-talk this evening on my shopping trip was strangely non-negative; almost cheerful at times. Instead of ruminating I started out with something like "wow, a lot has happened in the last 7 years..." -- ended up revising it to 8.
So there's that. No idea what triggered it or how long it will last; the last couple of days have been kind of drifty.
I've also been moderately productive -- I finished configuring my new laptop, Sable, paid some bills, gotten a bid from Surety Pest Control for debugging the house, and made substantial progress slogging through the piles of unsorted and partly-sorted mail on the surfaces (low shelves, tray table, and cat tree) next to my desk.
Colleen's labs came back looking very good; on the other hand she's still having problems and not walking enough.

: that weird thing with the primary monitor flipping over to the big one when it's
plugged in (depending on which plug; more weirdness) means that when I close the lid
it stays put.

charger that G got for S, but I think N has it.

* fixed some bad links in thestarport.org/Browse/forParents -- the whole site needs to
be gone over, dead links removed, index.html pages replaced with symlinks, .xh
templates removed and replaced (after checking to make sure nothing is missing from
the rendered page), CSS installed, makefiles replaced with MakeStuff, etc.
Probably not worthwhile reviving the template engine,which isn't even there anymore,
though the .xh files are cleaner...

Date: 2019-09-23 09:20 pm (UTC)The update to Safari 13 did knock out the Wayback Machine extension, but I've gotten a bookmarklet for those occasions now.
I've got Firefox installed as a backup browser, as well as Vivaldi (Chromium-based) for those sites that may have trouble with Firefox or Safari.
The bigger headache, though, is macOS Catalina, which is going to nix all 32-bit software and hamper other software that is 64-bit but still has some 32-bit components. It'll also stop my old printer from working due to increased security requirements for kernel extensions, but then Canon stopped supporting this model on Mac back in 2013, and it's showing signs of age now, so an upgrade to a newer AirPrint-supporting model is probably on the cards.
As for software, most of the stuff I use is OK but I may need to create a virtual machine running my current version of macOS so I can play some games that won't work under Catalina.
