Strange week. Between some links on grieving for pets (Tuesday), Children's Grief Awareness Day (Thursday), and selling our van, Rosie (Friday), I've been kind of wistful/sad/nostalgic most of the week without actually being depressed. At least, I don't think I've been depressed. Grief feels very distinct from depression for me; possibly perhaps because I tend to process it by writing. Your mileage may vary.

Somehow I've managed to get a fair number of things done, including a surprising (to me, but my expectations are very low) amount of mail sorting, putting Colleen's cookbooks up on the new shelves, and getting Desti to her annual checkup (Monday -- like me, she's elderly and rather overweight but otherwise healthy).

    heavily loaded yet.  There were 3 boxes of books, expanding to ~5'6" of shelf.

  & 15min: sort through mail stacks; discard paid items (Sigma Xi, PP, Am Cancer Soc.)

  ! a picture of somebody's little grandkid made me smile.  Lovely way to start the day.
  * 10am Desti SWAC -> protested a little getting put into the carrier, but stayed curled
    up in it once we got to the vet.  Haven't seen that before.  surgery?  Went right back
    into the carrier after her exam, too.  A little overweight - 14lbs.  Maybe feed wet
    food once/day, kibble once/day.  1/2c kibble.
    9 years old is starting her (geriactric) "golden years"; annual bloodwork recommended.
  : I've finally cleared off enough desk space for the cats to sit with me.
  : occurred to me that perhaps one should connect to South5 to talk to lp.
  & went down to garage with V to look for cookbooks.  Not in the boxes we could get to
    There are 7 stacks of 4 boxes, but some aren't books, so call it 25.  A shelf unit
    holds 8.  maybe 50' of shelf, unpacked; we don't have a good place for 3 shelf units.

I spent most of last week in despair over the state of politics here in the UK. We're having a General Election on Dec 12th, and the campaign has already turned ugly. :( And that's on top of the Brexit debacle. Ugh.
