Today I am grateful for...

• Cheese. Not all microbes are evil. Bread, yogurt, and beer as well; cheese is what I happen to be eating at the moment. And viruses aren't considered microbes anyway.
• Curbside pickup, home delivery, and other non-contact sports. Um... supports?
• Mask patterns online. (Do we detect a theme here?)
• Teleconferencing, streaming video, and instant messaging. (Particular call-outs to Zoom and Discord.)
• Online conventions -- or is that unconventions? (Particular call-out to the Festival of the Living Rooms.)

I'm self-isolating here, as I'm in an at-risk group. And everyone is being advised to stay at home as much as possible. As yet, though, a lot of folks don't seem to be taking that advice very seriously, judging by the number of people out in the park across the road from our house.

Everyone in the house is at-risk one way or another. It's hard to tell the difference here at the end of a cul-de-sac on a rural road. There were a lot fewer people around the last time I went out, but that was nearly a week ago.

Yeah; I should probably signal-boost that. There are a couple of virtual conventions on FB (which is not my preferred venu, but I think many of the concerts are on YouTube). Circles seem to be mostly on Zoom. Most of the conversation is over Discord, on #filkhaven.
