My headspace this week was mostly taken up by Colleen's trip to the hospital Monday -- when she woke up she was too weak to stand. Mostly dehydrated from all the diarrhea, I think. She also needed some wound care for pressure ulcers, and is badly in need of PT to strengthen her legs. We should be getting the PT and wound care from Home Health starting tomorrow.

My visits to the hospital (they recently started allowing one designated visitor per patient) didn't actually take up that much time -- I only spent two or three hours there -- but I wasn't good for much else afterward. I did do a little more singing than in past weeks. (It's easy to do more than nothing.) But not enough. I should make up a couple of setlists. A week ago I wrote that I was... in that weird depressed state where I know that (e.g.) singing would raise my mood, which is most of why I don't. :P That's still mostly valid. Goes double for walking.

We will also be having Colleen's caregiver, V, starting next week; she came over for a little while yesterday. Between that, the EMTs Monday, and Home Health, I'm getting a little concerned about the number of outsiders coming through the house, but there doesn't seem to be any way of avoiding it.

Yesterday I went for a long(ish) drive with Colleen. In the Before Times, our weekend often included a brunch out, followed by a drive on whatever scenic route took our fancy. Our last brunch out was five months ago.

Have I mentioned that my eyes itch. More precisely, various places around my eyes. Maddening, especially in situations where I shouldn't touch my face.

Don't underestimate "doing more than nothing." It's easy to get into a rut of not doing something at all; doing a little is a big step toward doing more.
