Thankful Thursday

Today I am grateful for...

• Antibiotics and physical therapy (for Colleen, as usual).
• The ability to put multiple Linux installers on one thumb drive with Ventoy.
• Maybe understanding UEFI booting a little? Enough to be dangerous, anyway.
• Waking up with cats.
• ... and I am paticularly grateful that I am not living in San Jose right now.

ETA: Colleen coming home today!

Thanks! Air quality is still pretty bad according to reports -- I may simply have tuned out the smell of smoke -- but at least the sky looks grey and not orange, and we'd be staying indoors anyway.

Followup: I went out to check the mail and I could definitely see the air -- and smell it. About like a bad smog day in the Bay Area, or a normal day in LA, during the early '70s.

But not as bad as Smokane, for example, or the Jersey Turnpike in the '50s.

Smokane made me want to cry.

I spent way too much time on the NJ Turnpike in the 60s, and it was pretty horrible.
