Colleen still isn't back home. Our current best guess is Wednesday.
I actually spent a good part of my time either working on software maintenance or reading books, in particular This Could be Important and Machines Who Think, both by Pamela McCorduck. McCorduck is a writer, not a historian or a computer scientist; these books offer a fascinating look at the human side of artificial intelligence. (The fact that I've personally met almost all of the people she writes about probably has a lot to do with why I found them fascinating.)
I spent some time on a small programmimg project (blogging/save.make, for quickly saving work in progress without cluttering the log with trivial commits), and a small organization project (with a little programming -- improving the directory structure created when I use Honu and related utilities to set up a new computer). I won't bore you with the details, though I may make a curmudgeon post out of it later.

Your red sock issue is very familiar to me. Maintaining both sets of my glasses within ready reach is a cognitive challenge.
