Today I am grateful for...

• (laptop)Sable's 6+ hour battery life.
• Microwave ovens. Have I been thankful for microwave ovens before? I don't think so.
• Moore's law, especially as it applies to solid-state mass storage.
• Thinkpads from eBay.

Microwave ovens are great! They get a bad rap because people think of them as a tool to heat up readymade food (as if that isn't great in itself). But they are also very useful for cooking things like vegetables, pasta and rice... and you can make popcorn in them!

Corn-on-the-cob is just about my favorite microwave veggie. Sprinkle it with salt and pepper, and wrap it up in plastic wrap along with some butter. One minute/cob if I remember correctly.

I do them a bit longer, but otherwise the same way and yes, they're delicious!
