mdlbearNot a bad week. Almost counts as productive -- at least I finished $writing-gig-3 and shipped it off to $editor. Ended up ~ 3400 words (though a good bit of that is code blocks, which I don't really know how to allow for).
The musical highlight of the week was the Lamplighters Music Theatre's 2007 production of "The Merry Widow", streamed out to their Patreon supporters last Sunday. If you're in the Bay Area, it's on Pocket Opera's schedule for March of next year. The same excellent translation, by the late Donald Pippin.
I seem to be in the process of converting most of my Ubuntu systems to Mint. There are a couple of reasons for that: Ubuntu's use of (proprietary) snaps, and the fact that Ubuntu's "Gnome Flashback" is really just Gnome 3 with a Gnome 2 panel, and sort of works like the Gnome 2 that I prefer, and sort of doesn't. Mint's MATE is an actual fork of Gnome 2, and Just Works the way I want it to. I'm probably going to go back to Debian on servers.
I also set up a website on GitLab -- yet another project that I seem to have acquired. GitLab Pages has support for all the major static site generators as well as plain HTML. Good way to get a website up in a hurry if you don't mind using the command line.
There's a recall out against my CPAP, a Phillips Respironics Dreamstation, which I somehow missed the email about. And the notifications on the web page. Of course, they don't have a fix yet, and suggest not using your CPAP until they do. Right. The problem is bits of soundproofing foam getting into the airstream, and is really only significant if you've been cleaning it with ozone. Is that really something people do? Anyway, they suggest using an anti-bacterial filter if you have to keep using it -- the ones I ordered from Amazon will be arriving tomorrow.
That makes the second incomplete recall I'm waiting for, the other being on the Chevrolet Bolt, which has a slight tendency to burst into flames if it's overcharged. The mitigation for that is to put it on "hilltop reserve", which limits charging to 90% or so. Eventually they're going to fix it by installing a new battery pack; I'm not going to complain about that. Especially since it is a bit larger and they're extending the warranty to cover it.

My week was mostly spent a) recovering from sleep deficit and shaking off the after-effects of the winter flu vaccine shot I had the week before, b) cleaning up my music library prior to ditching my Apple Music subscription, and c) pondering what to do next after failing to pass the intermediate-level copyediting course from the Chartered Institute of Editors & Proofreaders (CIEP).
