Last week went by very quickly. I'm not sure I noticed what it was like. That's probably okay. Also see yesterday's derealization links. (To be expanded into a River post at some point.) (I note in passing that yesterday was Autistic Pride Day, which may be related.)

I also note that today is both Juneteenth and Father's Day. I don't have anything planned related to either of them, though I hope that the kids will call at some point. Or text.

I had a dentist appointment Monday morning for teeth cleaning, so I drove back to Seattle Sunday evening rather than risk the ferry schedule on Monday. Possibly part of why the week feels askew -- basically the whole thing got skewed. It'll get skewed even more this week because I'm going back to Seattle Tuesday; this is related to c's new truck, as described in this GoingSideways.blog post.

The hygienist took a look at my gums, which are in pretty bad shape in places, and suggested a Waterpik. So I got one. So far I don't like it, and I'm skeptical about how well it works, but having used it only three times so far (with only one of its various tips) I'll give it some time.

In other news, GitHub (owned by Micro$oft) has announced that their Atom text editor is going to be "sunsetted", as of December 15th. See Forever Emacs for why I don't really care. But it will be interesting to see which of the various forks takes its place.

i used a waterpik for the first time only a few years ago. the first few weeks were a mess. it seemed like that damn thing sprayed water all over the bathroom and precious little into my mouth. but i stuck with it and seriously, it rocks. my teeth love it, my gums love it, the plaque looks pissed as it goes down the drain.
