Thankful Thursday
2022-09-08 12:10 pmToday I am grateful for...
- N planning to come up to the house over the weekend to help me take the cats to Seattle.
- The new cat carrier, which Desti immediately jumped into when I put it on the floor. Because box.
- The support rep at Respironics who told me that, while they would like for people to return their old CPAP, they don't really care if I don't. Which is good, because the Dreamstation 2 that they sent me through the recall is a piece of crap. Also, having decided to hold onto the old one for a few days.
- Pre-cooked rice in plastic pouches, which comes in really handy when a someone wants fried rice but there's no left-over rice in the fridge.
- A sufficient number of spare guitars and spare laptops. Not a necessary and sufficient number in the mathematical sense.
- The Internet.

Date: 2022-09-09 03:15 am (UTC)We have one hard-shell carrier which I don't recall any of the cats -- or the people -- liking. And one soft-sided carrier that is too floppy to get a cat into single-handed. I tried.

Date: 2022-09-13 01:47 pm (UTC)"Kitty box!" is a phrase often heard in our household.
I was very encouraged when I put a new carrier down on the floor and Desti jumped into it.

He's fascinated by Monroe. Achilles keeps watching the baby. He also likes to pounce and nip him, causing Monroe to squeal and smack him with his bitty paws. Luckily, Achilles only bats him delicately, without claws. It's as if he's very aware that he's wanting to play with a baby. I have pix of Monroe on my Twitter feed.

We think Desti is all or mostly Bombay -- they were bred to look like miniature black panthers. (We call her our "pocket panther".) She's extremely affectionate and practically fearless, and the only one of our cats who likes to sit on people's laps. (Also on people's laptops.)
