2022-10-02 01:05 pmVery mixed week. See below.
Had a good session with (organizer)Kara on Tuesday, then left in time to get to a vaccination appointment in Shoreline. Which left me pretty out of it on Wednesday -- that's my usual reaction to the Moderna vaccine. The organizing session mostly focused on books in the house, getting the TBR shelf, the "must keep" books, and the music-related books boxed up. We should probably work on pulling out the things that might be worth trying to sell individually, and leaving the rest on the shelves for the eventual "estate" sale.
The organizer session also freed up some Elfa shelving components for me to add to the ones already down in Seattle. There are eight feet of wire shelf already up, and more waiting for me to figure out the best layout.
We had a couple of good band practice sessions (for my up-coming concert at Or-E-Con 2 on November 6), and I did some solo practicing as well. That seems to be going okay. I seem to have gotten somewhat shy about practicing where other people can hear me, which is weird, but I'm working on it.
Friday I had a PT appointment where I got some new exercises. This morning I decided to cut the third set short when my right knee started hurting. Fortunately I keep a knee brace in my backpack; I'll add a folding cane before I go up to Whidbey later today. I am not happy with my knees right now. (My back is complaining less than usual, so there's that.)

% WEIRD! I can't find my wallet! Even looked in the washer; I'll look again while

commit message -- the question is how in heck did it work before?
Answer: the date used to end with the year. Now it doesn't -- it's `date`.

-> but the way make/defines.make sets COMMIT_MSG hasn't changed. so `date` must have!
-> so "fix" it by defining LONG_DATE which is the same except for using 24-hour time
The day of the month is still space-padded.

I've spent a ridiculous amount on the stuff.

Date: 2022-10-03 08:08 am (UTC)I had my Covid-19 booster on Saturday and felt rough for most of the weekend.
I finally paid by WeBuyBooks for all the books I've sent them, which pleases me. Unfortunately, the following — and possibly final, for now, unless WBB decides they're willing to buy my other books — box is still in the hallway, as Evri failed to collect it on Thursday. I've scheduled a new collection for today (Monday) and I'm waiting now to see if they get it sorted this time.
I've sold two high-value books on eBay, and another two are currently listed. I've also got several electronic peripherals that can be sold off as I no longer need them. One of those is my old iPad Mini 4, which is starting to show its age and has reached the end of the road in terms of iPadOS updates. I can now do most of the tasks I performed on that device using my iPhone SE, which has the advantage of not being a doorstop in the event of an internet outage. It'll mean an end to twelve years of iPad ownership, which I'm feeling melancholic about, but the truth is that the extra cash will help right now plus it's one less device to manage.
