As usual, I'm no closer to... almost anything that I ought to be working toward, than I was last week. (I am marginally closer to downsizing, through having taken the last of Colleen's cookbooks -- two file boxes worth -- down to my daughter's house on Thursday. It's not statistically significant.)

I've gotten back to thinking about and experimenting with converting GoingSideways.blog to a block theme. Which means I've gotten back to approximately where I was... (consults git log)... in mid-July. We're supposed to be back from our hiatus in January, so that's running a bit late. (On the other hand, the choice of base themes and the selection of blocks and tools has expanded some, so the intervening months haven't been a total loss.)

If you bought a security camera from Eufy based on their promise that all your data was stored locally, not in the cloud, I'm sorry to say that they lied. Eufy, btw, is owned by Anker, which until now was my favorite cable and charger brand. More under last Sunday, along with other security and privacy bad news.

If you still miss MacOS 9, you can run it in your browser. If you're looking for a wormhole, physicists have created one using a quantum computer. Or at least, something that is mathematically identical to a two-dimensional hologram of one. There's a glimpse of a fascinating duality between wormholes and quantum entanglement, but you still can't fly a starship through one. Sorry.

Borrowing a line from a well-known statement about history, evolution doesn't repeat, but it rhymes. Looks pretty close.
