Not a very productive week. Last Sunday's planned Hanukkah party was pushed off to this week due to illness (everyone's okay now), which also scrubbed the cats' vet visit. Which would have been problematic anyway because of the snow. Which also made me put off my usual weekend trip to Whidbey, and I put off Molly's service visit because it had been double-booked too close to the vet visit. Fortunately I had acquired presents last week, and the delays gave me time to wrap them. So...

I've been having a lot of trouble getting out of bed -- not sure whether that's because I've been waking up in the middle of the night or because I've been waking up with cats lying on my hands. Or because of depression. Possibly all three. I always have trouble identifying my emotions. Falling asleep sitting up reading, without my CPAP mask, probably also has something to do with it.

Waking up at 7:04 Friday sent me off on a minor rabbit-hole around memorable numbers. Probably ought to make a post about that.

Quote of the week: "The acid test for any two competing socioeconomic systems is which side needs to build a wall to keep people from escaping? That’s the bad one!" -- Elon Musk on Twitter, about the same time he was suppressing tweets about Mastodon, Facebook, and Instagram. Right.

Anyway, whichever winter holiday you're celebrating, have a good one. And if you're trying hard to ignore all of them, NASA has posted a huge collection of history e-Books, audio, etc. for you to hide in. I particularly recommend Earth As Art and Earth at Night.

I find myself staying in bed a lot later than I want to, because the weather has been cold, and the furnace isn't working right, and the bed is nice and warm.
