I don't expect it to suck any less than 2022 -- I'll settle for sucking less than 2021.

It would be hard to suck worse than 2021... but I'd bet it could if it tried. Here's hoping it doesn't

I went to bed early, only to be abruptly awoken at midnight when just about everyone else in our neighbourhood (apparently) decided it was time to set off all the fireworks they still had. >.<

I'm at least more prepared for 2023 than I was for 2022, so there's that. If anyone gets in my face about wearing a mask in crowded places, I'll tell them it's a fashion statement. I may even get a sparkly mask, just to push the point. :)

January is shaping up to be mostly getting off my behind and finally sorting out a Will, Power of Attorney (so my sister can act for me if I'm no longer able to manage my affairs), a Living Will (so doctors know I don't want to be kept alive if there's no realistic prospect of my recovery) and a document detailing how to access all my devices, accounts and services and how I want them disposed of after I'm gone. Not looking forward to any of those, but it's time to bite the bullet and get them done.

Procrastination sucks. But I do it anyway.

The sad thing for me is I can argue 2020 was a better year for me personally, pandemic and all, than 2022.

It was better for me, too. About all I can say in favor of 2022 was that it was way better than 2021.

2022 was worse for me & my immediate circles than either 2020 or 2021. I -hope- 2023 is more merciful!
