Today I am grateful for...

• Mastodon. For which my ID, as of earlier this afternoon, is @ssavitzky@indieweb.social.
• Debirdify. Which will probably stop working a week from now, because muskmellon. But it worked today, so I now have a list of the mastodon accounts of everyone I'm following on birdland who's put their mastodon ID in their profile.
• Antibiotic eyedrops. Which, unlike antibiotic ophthalmic ointment, is something I can actually use reliably and safely. No thanks to a scratched cornea that made the aforementioned antibiotics necessary.
• The call from the receptionist at the endodontist's office when I was totally lost and half an hour late. No thanks to $G maps, which sent me around in a circle three times because it didn't mention that the turn I had to make was into a parking garage.
• The dental CAT scanner that enabled my dentist to find the bone damage that has been eluding X-rays literally for years. No thanks to the damage itself, which is going to require a root canal next week. No thanks to my right temporomandibular joint, which is also giving me trouble.
• My dental insurance, which is going to bring the cost of that procedure down under the cost of having my cats' teeth cleaned. Slightly under.

I'm not sure how I feel about teeth in general. Maybe I'd be better off with a beak?

I doubt it. Years ago I had three teeth break off in two weeks. That's when I decided this wasn't going to work, and had them all pulled and replaced with dentures.

Beaks are very nice.

Dental CAT scans are great; that's how I got my deviated septum located and fixed.

Beaks are contraindicated for hot soup and steaks. Fine for fish though.

Eagles seem to do okay eating meat with beaks. You may have a point about soup.

Also I think I have a Dreamwidth importer for Wordpress working. This isn't me stepping away from Dreamwidth - it'll actually make it more likely that I'll post here.

What I'm trying to do is get a personal Wordpress working both to post here (easy-peasy, done) and be followable via ActivityPub, and have all my Livejournal and Dreamwidth posts in one place.

I'm honestly kind of excited about this in no small part because DISTRIBUTED SOCIAL! and also because I'll have all my nonsense on my own server again and that'll be a first since... oh... 2001? xD

I'm going to have to get that working for GoingSideways.blog. The documentation for the ActivityPub plugin is pretty sketchy.
