Thankful Thursday

Today I am grateful for...

• The Fujoshi Guide to Web Development -- a work in progress, but the draft of the Git chapter looks promising. Proper signal boost later. (Tomorrow would be appropriate -- it's Git's 18th birthday.)
• Git.
• A week to myself (starting tomorrow; with extra cats). Too bad I also have to do my taxes.
• Some help for the part of the taxes that apply to my parents' estate.
• Democrat Janet Protasiewicz wins seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court
• Heating pads for my lower back.

Yay for Janet!!! Did you hear that the Wisconsin GOP is already talking about impeaching her? Shame on them.

No, but it doesn't surprise me. It wouldn't surprise me if they succeed, either.

It would make me (and a whole lot of other Wisconsin voters) very angry if they do that.

Impeach her? Boo! She was duly elected. If the state weren't so gerrymandered, it would be more blue. I know this because Mom (God rest) was a politician. Mom and I are natives of WI. It's times like this that I don't get homesick.

Boo is totally correct!

However, the Wisconsin Senate leaders reportedly don't want to impeach her; apparently Governor Evers would get to appoint a replacement if they do. So impeaching would be an insult to the voters and also not get them what they want. Thank goodness!

I'm glad. WI would have reasonable politics if they weren't gerrymandered so, well, red-shifted.
